Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

Valet Attendants are responsible for our, professional, courteous and legendary arrival & departure experience. Responsibilities include the acceptance & retrieval of guest vehicles, and any other guest arrival and departure needs, coordinating all valet parking business transactions, including tendering cash & credit card payments for valet services, managing our automated valet system and parking operations, to include information and data entry and guest key controls. The valet attendant is a key leadership role that needs to ensure prompt accurate service, while delivering our legendary Horseshoe Casino service. Valet attendant is an important role, vital to the success of our valet parking business and service goals.

The Valet attendant must conduct his/her duties with safety and customer service at the forefront of their service delivery goals. The valet attendant/cashier is our first opportunity to deliver our legendary Horseshoe Casino experience. 

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Greets everyone at all times.  Smiles, makes eye contact and verbally greets guests and coworkers from arrival to the property through departure. 
  • Provides memorable, personal & professional experience to all guests. ( The legendary Experience )
  • Ticket/Register all incoming vehicles.  Record necessary information on Valet Ticket.
  •  As applicable, validate Rewards Cards for parking privileges.
  • Follow established protocol for Front Parking requests.
  • Must keep valet lines moving at all times by communicating via radio to Attendants the volume and lanes from which to pull vehicles to park.
  • Inspect vehicles and accurately mark pre-existing damage on valet tickets.
  • Park incoming cars safely and efficiently.
  • Runs/Jogs safely to ensure promptness and urgency at all times.
  • Accurately hang keys in the valet booths.
  • Works with automated parking technology proficiently.
  • Direct traffic during peak business times.
  • Safely return vehicles to guests.
  • Open car and building doors and attempt to anticipate needs for all guests.
  • Provide information about the property and amenities.
  • Provide general driving directions to guests.
  • Assist as possible with wheel chairs and other assistance.
  • Clearly communicates with others and uses radios when necessary.
  • Receive tickets from departing guest and charge guest appropriately. Ring all sales into point of sale system.
  • Manage flow of parking functions.  Log tickets and notify valet of pickup. 
  • Make change for guests as requested.
  • Maintain logs and run reports relative to delivery times, car counts and other parking related information.
  • Log internal issuance including radios, tickets and equipment for Valet Attendants
  • Courteously and professionally answer phones, direct calls, answer questions, and log/relay messages.
  • Serve as coat checker. Hang coats, store parcels.  Takes personal responsibility for the safekeeping of checked articles.
  • Run key booths which include key management and data entry.
  • Maintain a spotless environment; ensure all valet & parking areas are free of trash and debris; notify supervisor of any concerns relative to music, lighting, signage and ambient elements.
  • Follow all departmental procedures and policies to ensure efficient, safe and secure operations.
  • Ensure all guests problems are handled quickly to ensure guest satisfaction within the established guidelines.
  • Set high personal standards for performance and encourages others to do the same.
  • Work as a team player.  Assist other Valet & Parking related positions and activities including coat check, cashiering, directing traffic, and more.
  • Accurate and efficient cash handling when assisting or acting as Valet Cashier; accepts payments, makes change, follows procedures for credit and other payment transactions.  Uses point of sale system accurately and in accordance with proper procedure.
  • Any and all other job duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

  • High school Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2+ years in customer service industry with a clear passion for service.
  • Prior valet or hospitality experience a plus

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  Must hold current driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work Thurs - Sunday   3:00 PM - 1:30 AM
  •  Must be a team player
  •  Must be able to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
  •  Must maintain impeccable driving record.
  •  Must be able to jog/move quickly throughout shift.
  •  Must possess the ability to show grace and compassion in all circumstances.
  •  Strong organizational skills.
  •  Some computer literacy.
  •  Act as a role model to other employees.
  •  Adhere to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.
  •  Must project professionalism and possess excellent verbal and written  communication skills.
  • Professional appearance; neatly groomed to impress.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions including wind, rain, cold, snow, heat, etc.
  • Must be able to jog, walk and stand for long periods of time (8-9 hours).
  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions, when handling conflicts.
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel. 
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Responds to visual and verbal cues. 
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment. 
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays.
